  • Model merging has gained increasing attention as an efficient and effective technique for integrating task-specific weights from various tasks into a unified multi-task model without retraining or additional data. As a representative approach, Task Arithmetic (TA) has demonstrated that combining task vectors through arithmetic operations facilitates efficient capability transfer between different tasks. In this framework, task vectors are obtained by subtracting the parameter values of a pre-trained model from those of individually fine-tuned models initialized from it. Despite the notable effectiveness of TA, interference among task vectors can adversely affect the performance of the merged model. In this paper, we relax the constraints of Task Arithmetic Property and propose Task Consistency Property, which can be regarded as being free from task interference. Through theoretical derivation, we show that such a property can be approximately achieved by seeking orthogonal task vectors. Guiding by this insight, we propose Adaptive Weight Disentanglement (AWD), which decomposes traditional task vectors into a redundant vector and several disentangled task vectors. The primary optimization objective of AWD is to achieve orthogonality among the disentangled task vectors, thereby closely approximating the desired solution. Short-term urban traffic flow prediction remains a difficult yet important problem in the intelligent transportation systems (ITS). Most previous spatio-temporal based urban traffic flow prediction techniques just pay attention to building the relationship between the adjacent upstream and downstream road segments using various models. While in this paper, we take advantage of the spatial and temporal information from all available road segments in the road network to predict the short-term traffic volume accurately. However, the available traffic states can be high-dimensional for high-density or large scale road networks. Therefore, we present a spatio-temporal variable selection based support vector regression (VS-SVR) model fed with the high-dimensional traffic data collected from all available road segments.   • The use of a multi-carrier array can make positional modulation realized in directional and/or distance dependent transmission of information, forming a single bit error rate (BER) pattern null at the specified position and improving the security of physical layer communication. However, the presence of the mismatch between the specified and the actual receiving positions will deteriorate the signal reception performance. Based on the rationale of positional modulation, a regional modulation technique was proposed, being insensitive to the mentioned position error. The regional modulation can make the null width of the BER pattern be adjusted properly to form a communication compromise between security and robustness. Firstly, the one-dimensional Woodward-Lawson synthesis method was extended to realize two-dimensional angle-distance flat-top beam pattern synthesis, focusing the energy of the transmitted signal in a preset region. Then, the multi-carrier array manifold vector was constructed, corresponding to the angle and distance selected in the Woodward-Lawson synthesis method. Finally, a vector was randomly selected from the orthogonal complement of the space spanned by the above manifold vectors to encrypt the non-signal energy focusing region. Simulation results show that the regional modulation technique can fulfill a good signal reception performance in the whole preset angle and distance region.
